Brief Overview

This guide covers how to use and work with materials to ensure they are in compliance with Fair Dealing and Copyright guidelines. This information is intended to provide guidance; it should not be interpreted as legal advice 

• Fair Dealing guidelines and practices are often the same whether the material is delivered online or in-person, especially if the material is being shared through a secured site accessible only to students
• Consider using open-access materials that have few or no restrictions related to their use
• Use the Copyright Roadmap to determine if and how material can be used
