This is the information for using Nipissing search to request items from another library. For how to request items as a Canadore student/staff/faculty please select the tab above labelled Canadore.

How to Request Books From Another Library

  • Do not skip this step. Sign in to your library account. Sign in located in the top right hand corner of the search screen

  • Search for a specific title or use keywords to find relevant material
  • If we don't have the book in our collection you will see "Not Available Locally, Click For More Options", select this option

  • Select the "Get It From Another Library" option

  • Select pickup institution and location. You can request to have books sent to any of the partner institutions listed and pick them up there
  • Wait for the email telling you the book is ready to be picked up

If you would like to request an item that does not appear in your Nipissing Search results you can fill in a Blank Request Form with as much information as possible about the item

NOTE: The bullet points at the top of the request form are very important to read before submitting your requests. Requests for an entire book will be fulfilled with a physical copy, requests for a single chapter of a book, a single article from a journal, or an excerpt of no more than 10% of a work will be sent to your email digitally when possible

How To Request Books From Another Library

  • Conduct a search using CANADORE SEARCH for the title you are looking for 

  • If we do not have the item in the collection it can be requested via a Resource Sharing Request

All Resource Sharing requests are now submitted by email using the email.

Most Resource Sharing / Interlibrary Loans are free of charge. If any charges apply you will be notified before your request is processed so that you can accept the charges or cancel your request.
